Locally cut cherry and blue metallic epoxy resin. It was my first time working with metallic and blue epoxy. The swirl marks produced during the epoxy hardening process make a beautiful pattern.
This particular table will be fitted with legs picked by the future buyer to his liking. I can also propose matching legs.

I started with a 300 year old cherry slab from the same tree as my projects “Number 1” and “Cherry cost”
I wanted to create a metallic blue table in this project. I waited a few days to let the epoxy harden before removing it from the mold.
During the curing (hardening) process, the two components of the epoxy react together in an exothermic reaction, creating the beautiful wave like swirls.
After a few days of curing, I flattened the table with a DIY flattening jig and the Makita RP2303FC07 router
Time to start sanding with the Makita 9406J belt sander to remove all the lines from the flattening process.
And after sanding and applying the finish, the Blue Horizon project is finished
