Locally cut Cherry and jet-black epoxy resin. This is the style of table that Alps Wood Design specializes in. The black river running directly in the centre shows the high contrast with the light cherry wood.
This is a classical “river table” with two pieces of wood set next to each other. The natural voids and cracks highlight the colour of the cherry while keeping its balanced harmony.
This particular table was fitted with a set of custom legs that were sized specifically for this table.

The design process consists of choosing the wood and choosing the layout
Once the layout is set, the wood is cut to size for the mold and clamped down so that it doesn’t float.
Now it is time to pour the epoxy
After curing, the table is flattened and cut to size
The supports are attached on the underside and all the small cracks and holes are filled for a perfect surface
The next step is sanding, and a lot of it. Between each grit of sandpaper, I “water pop” the table for an extra smooth finish
